Management Accountant

Role: Management Accountant - -40,000 to -50,000

We are partnering with a well-established and growing business SME, operating in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. They are seeking a Management Accountant to join their finance team and play a key role in supporting the Head of Finance.

This is a hands-on, varied position offering full exposure across management accounts, reporting, and business partnering, with the opportunity to add real value through insight and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts with full analysis and commentary
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Business partner with operational teams to support decision making
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and key balance sheet accounts
• Oversee accruals, prepayments, and journal postings
• Manage cashflow forecasting and working capital reporting
• Complete VAT returns and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
• Maintain the fixed asset register and oversee capital expenditure tracking
• Support year-end audit and liaise with external auditors
• Identify and drive process improvements across the finance function
• Assist with ad-hoc analysis and finance projects as required

What We''re Looking For

• Part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent experience
• Strong background in management accounting within an SME environment
• Excellent Excel skills and strong attention to detail
• Confident communicator, comfortable working with non-finance stakeholders
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
• Experience with accounting systems such as Sage, Xero or similar (desirable)
