Management Accountant

Group Management Accountant Location: Chester - Hybrid working pattern after probation Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Circa £45,000 per annum. Could be flexible DOE We are currently working with a market-leader in Chester that are looking to recruit a Group Management Accountant, where you will be instrumental in delivering accurate and timely month-end accounts, managing and developing junior finance employees, and improving processes, reporting, and communication. This role reports directly to the Group Financial Controller and acts as a crucial bridge within the finance department. Day-to-day of the role: Prepare monthly management accounts up to the point of review by the Financial Controller. Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations and prepare and post various journals including accruals, prepayments, and loans. Maintain fixed asset accounting and the asset register. Engage in reporting and variance analysis to support month-end processes. Prepare VAT returns and process payment runs. Control AP/AR ledgers and assist in cost centre reviews and budgetary controls. Support external audits and respond to audit queries. Review and analyse credit control activities to ensure efficient operation of the finance function. Delegate tasks and manage workload across sales and purchase ledger clerks. Handle internal queries and communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
