Management Accountant

The Management Accountant in Derbyshire will play a key role in supporting financial operations within the accounting & finance department.

This role in the retail industry requires strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail to ensure accurate financial reporting and support decision-making processes.

Description

• Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes to aid strategic decision-making.
• Monitor financial performance and provide variance analysis with actionable insights.
• Reconcile balance sheets and maintain financial controls.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Assist with year-end audits and prepare required documentation.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within financial operations.
• Provide financial support and advice to department heads and senior management.

Profile

A successful Management Accountant should have:

• A recognised accounting qualification or part-qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
• Proven experience in management accounting within the retail industry or a similar sector.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• A thorough understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
• Able to commute to our client''s offices in Derbyshire.
• Strong communication skills to effectively present financial information to stakeholders.
