Management Accountant

This is a hands-on Management Accountant role focused on producing management accounts, analysing financial performance and providing meaningful commentary to support business decisions.You''ll take ownership of key finance processes, drive continuous improvements and play an important role within a growing and evolving finance function.Client DetailsA company in the retail industry based in Birmingham.DescriptionKey ResponsibilitiesProduce accurate and timely monthly management accounts.Prepare journals, reconciliations and supporting schedules.Analyse financial performance and provide detailed commentary.Investigate variances and identify trends, risks and opportunities.Maintain strong balance sheet controls and reconciliations.Support the development of management reporting and business insight.Deliver ad hoc financial analysis to support decision-making.Take ownership of the fixed asset register.Oversee expenses and company card processes.Support VAT returns, external audits and statutory reporting.Manage National Statistics submissions and other regulatory reporting requirements.Identify and drive process improvements across finance systems, controls and reporting.
