Management Accountant

As a Management Accountant in Burnley, you will manage core accounting activities helping the Accounting & Finance department maintain clear and useful financial information. You will work across the day-to-day running of management accounts and use your insight to support sound financial decisions.

Description

• Prepare accurate management accounts to give colleagues a clear view of financial performance.
• Review financial data and investigate variances, helping to explain key movements in income and expenditure.
• Maintain reliable financial records and ensure accounting information is complete and up to date.
• Work with Accounting & Finance colleagues to provide timely financial reporting for business planning.
• Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing clear information for decision-making.
• Analyse financial results and present findings in a straightforward, practical format.
• Improve reporting processes where appropriate, helping the team produce consistent information efficiently.

Profile

A successful ''Management Accountant'' should have:

• Experience working in the social housing sector or at least the wider not-for-profit / public sector
• Experience preparing management accounts and analysing financial performance.
• Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• The ability to interpret financial data and explain findings clearly.
• Strong attention to detail when maintaining accounting records and reports.
• Confidence working with colleagues to gather information and resolve queries.
• The ability to organise work effectively and meet reporting deadlines.

Job Offer

• Permanent Management Accountant position in Lancashire
• Salary of -45,000 to -49,000 dependent on the level of experience.
• Hybrid working arrangement.
