Are you an experienced finance professional looking for your next opportunity? We are recruiting for a Management Accountant to join a well-established charitable organisation in Brighton on a 3-month temporary contract. Working closely with the Head of Finance and Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and overseeing grant funding administration.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous management accounting experience who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and making a positive impact within the charity sector.
You will be working Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm (35 hours per week), earning -18.00 - -20.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring all income and expenditure is recorded accurately and efficiently within the organisation''s Sage accounting system
- Supporting the production of monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Maintaining strong financial controls and processes across the organisation
- Overseeing invoicing and ensuring transactional finance activities are completed accurately
- Tracking grant funding, including restricted fund analysis and funder reporting
- Assisting with internal financial enquiries and providing support to colleagues across the organisation
- Working closely with the Head of Finance to support the day-to-day operation of the finance function
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role
- Strong understanding of management accounts and financial reporting
- Experience using Sage accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred (Not Essential) Experience:
- Experience working within a charity, foundation, or not-for-profit organisation
- Knowledge of grant funding and restricted fund reporting
- AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent finance qualification
- Experience implementing and maintaining financial controls
- Supporting audits and year-end processes
