We are seeking an experienced M&E Manager to join our a Tier 1 Contractor, working on large-scale, high-profile construction projects. As a key member of the site team, you will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical and electrical (M&E) aspects of the project from design coordination through to installation, commissioning, and handover.
You will work closely with consultants, subcontractors, internal teams, and client representatives to ensure the M&E packages are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, compliance, and programme.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the management of the M&E design, ensuring technical compliance and coordination with architectural and structural elements.

Manage the full M&E package lifecycle, from design development to procurement, installation, commissioning, and final handover.

Liaise with M&E consultants, subcontractors, and supply chain partners to ensure timely delivery and coordination.

Monitor and report on programme, quality, cost, and health & safety performance related to M&E works.

Review and approve technical submittals, method statements, and commissioning plans.

Oversee and support testing and commissioning activities, ensuring systems are delivered to specification and client requirements.

Identify and resolve M&E-related design and installation issues on site.

Support the commercial team with M&E package procurement, cost reviews, and variation assessments.

Chair regular M&E coordination and progress meetings.

Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, building control, and sustainability requirements (e.g., BREEAM, Part L).
Requirements:

Proven experience as an M&E Manager working for a Tier 1 main contractor on major projects (commercial, residential, or mixed-use).

Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services, including HVAC, public health, power, lighting, fire alarm, and BMS systems.

Solid background in design coordination, especially during pre-construction and early delivery stages.

Ability to manage multiple subcontractor interfaces and deliver against programme milestones.

Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations (CIBSE, IET Wiring Regs, Building Regs).

Strong communication, organisation, and leadership skills.

Engineering degree or equivalent in mechanical, electrical, or building services engineering is preferred.

CSCS, SMSTS, and relevant health & safety qualifications desirable.
