About the Role
As an M&E Design Manager, you will bridge the gap between pre-construction and delivery. You will take ownership of the full design process across multiple projects, ensuring all mechanical and electrical services are coordinated, compliant, and commercially viable from concept through to handover.-

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Ownership: Lead the M&E design process from tender through to construction stage.
  • Coordination: Organise and chair MEP workshops to provide technical solutions and coordinate with building structure and fabric.
  • Technical Review: Review and challenge technical submissions to ensure buildability, compliance with British Standards, and client specifications.
  • Commercial Support: Assist commercial teams with value engineering and cost-effective solutions to improve project profitability
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the technical lead in client and consultant meetings.

Requirements

  • Education: Degree in Building Services, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or HND/HNC with equivalent experience).
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in an M&E Design or Design Management role, preferably with a contractor or main contractor.
