Male SEN Learning Support Assistant Required

Full time- Term time only

A long-term, full-time position is available immediately (with the view to become permanent) working with students in a special education setting. 

Students here are aged 3 to 19, all with severe learning difficulties, with a range of associated needs: communication and interaction need, sensory needs, and complex learning needs.

What the Role Involves

• Supporting learners with a wide range of special educational needs: severe learning difficulties, complex needs, communication challenges.
• Working under individualised plans / Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Helping students regulate emotions, maintain routines and build trusting relationships.
• Following all school policies, supporting safeguarding, behaviour support, and routines.

What We’re Looking For

• A male candidate with experience working with children/young people with SEN in a school or similar setting.
• Someone with Team Teach training (or willing to train).
• Skills or knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or BSL would be advantageous but are not essential.
• Ability to work flexibly, adaptively, and with commitment to supporting a diverse range of needs.
• Good communication skills; patience, resilience, and empathy.
