Male SEMH Teaching Assistant - Specialist School Are you a resilient, confident and motivated Teaching Assistant who enjoys working with young people and making a real difference? We are currently recruiting for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Wandsworth, supporting secondary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who can build strong relationships with young people, confidently manage challenging behaviour and act as a positive male role model within the school environment. You may have a background in education, youth work, sports coaching, mentoring, care, support work, residential settings or the wider education sector. Most importantly, you will be someone who is patient, consistent and able to remain calm when faced with challenging situations. The Role As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide 1:1 and small-group support to secondary-aged pupils. Build positive and trusting relationships with students who may have experienced difficulties in education or at home. Support pupils with emotional regulation, confidence, resilience and social development. Manage challenging behaviour using positive and consistent behaviour strategies. Encourage students to engage with learning and develop greater independence. Provide support both inside and outside of the classroom.
