Maintenance Technician

We are delighted to be working with a cutting-edge research and teaching institution at the University of Oxford who are looking to recruit a Facilities Technician on a temporary contract for 5 months to provide building and maintenance support to the department.

About the role:

As a Facilities Technician, you will be assisting the Services Manager within the University buildings and reporting to the Facilities Manager to ensure that work is carried out in a timely manner to the appropriate standards          

A successful candidate is likely to have:

• Experience within building maintenance role
• IT literate including Microsoft Office
• Knowledge in Health & Safety, Risk Assessment
• Painting and decorating experience
• Have a knowledge of Goods In
• A personable manner and able to work within a small team

The details:

• Carrying out repairs and building maintenance
• Conducting weekly fire alarm tests
• Ensuring a high standard of Health & Safety at all times
• Communicate with the Facilities Manager regarding any issues
• Be able to assist with any painting or decorating
• Fixing of blocked sinks, toilets etc
• General electrical fixing
• General labouring (moving of chairs, desks etc)

Pay rate of between £16 per hour working Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm
