Maintenance Technician

Description:
- Conduct preventative maintenance on conveyor systems and production machinery in line with operational manuals, manufacturer specifications, and technical drawings.
- Perform routine testing of fire safety systems and Legionella controls to ensure regulatory compliance and site safety.
- Provide hands-on support across departments for a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks.
- Maintain structural components and facilities, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry, welding, and fabrication, while keeping maintenance schedules up to date.
- Coordinate and support contractor visits, ensuring all inductions and site safety protocols are completed.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in full compliance with company policies, procedures, and health & safety standards.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop and implement action plans that drive operational efficiency and technical excellence.
- Participate in regular meetings to report on health and safety, planned maintenance, and preventative maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimise downtime and maintain productivity.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with PUWER and LOLER regulations.
- Lead by example in promoting continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring sustainable and efficient practices are embedded in daily operations.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies, contributing to a safe and sustainable workplace.
Skills:
- Previous experience in demonstrating improvements and contributing to strategic planning of maintenance projects, avoiding costs and downtime where possible.
- Clear evidence of having demonstrating creativity and success in seeking improvements in performance and operational methods.
- Previous experience working with metal work, fabricating, and welding, preferred MiG welding, arc welding, tig welding.
- Pipe fitting and plumbing.
- Carpentry.
- Pneumatics.
