An established industrial manufacturing business based in Norwich is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join its Engineering team.
This is a hands-on mechanical maintenance position working across a large industrial site, carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance on a range of process plant and equipment.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of mechanical equipment, including pumps, valves, vessels, heat exchangers, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and pipework.
Duties will include mechanical assembly, pipe preparation, valve repair and pressure testing, as well as basic electrical work involving motors and starter circuits.
You will also be responsible for completing maintenance records through the site''s CMMS system, carrying out routine plant inspections and assisting with fault finding and root cause analysis.
The role will involve supporting the operation and maintenance of CHP equipment, including steam generation and associated plant.
Once fully trained and competent, there will be participation in an out-of-hours call-out rota, which attracts additional payment.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering/Maintenance.

At least 3 years'' practical engineering maintenance experience.

Experience with boiler maintenance and repairs.

Good mechanical maintenance experience across fixed and rotating equipment.

Basic electrical knowledge.

Experience working with pumps, valves and associated equipment.

Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

The ability to work safely, independently and as part of a team.
Experience within manufacturing, chemical, energy or another industrial/high-hazard environment would be advantageous.
