Maintenance Person

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled General Maintenance professional to join our team at Albany Care Home In Leyton, E10. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• General repairs and maintenance: performing routine maintenance tasks including fixing broken fixtures, repairing appliances, handling minor plumbing and electrical work
• Checking of water temperatures of sinks, showers and baths
• Fitting shelves, hanging pictures and installing window locks
• Decorating bedrooms/shared areas/corridors such as painting/wallpapering etc
• Completing various fire and health and safety checks throughout the home
• Purchase and collection of consumables and the control of the maintenance stock
• Ensuring that all tools and equipment used are stored in a safe place for the protection and safety of residents and staff & ensure that the storage of all cleaning and dangerous materials conform to the Home’s COSHH policy
• Maintaining gardens and general upkeep of the building
• Liaising with trade and contractors working in the home
• Checking quotes and invoices
• Report to the Home Manager if a particular job falls outside the Training/Skill of the post holder
• Undertake any other duties or training consistent with the role

Skills

> Prior experience working in a similar role in a care/nursing home would be ideal
> Relevant Health and Safety qualifications would be desirable
>Good Health and Safety awareness
> Basic electrical and plumbing skills required
> Must be willing to work outside of working hours in emergency situations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to £17.00 per hour
