We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Operative to join our team based in Sedgefield. Job Title: Maintenance Operative

Location: Sedgefield

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Salary: -27,000 - -30,000 per annum

Vehicle: Pool vehicle available for on-site use

Role Overview:

The Maintenance Operative will be responsible for carrying out general maintenance and handy-person duties across the site. This includes routine repairs, reactive maintenance, and ensuring that all facilities are safe, functional, and well-presented.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks including plumbing, carpentry, painting, and minor electrical work.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and issues.
• Conduct regular inspections of buildings, equipment, and grounds.
• Assist with room setups and operational support as needed.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed.
• Participate in the call-out rota (1 in 4 to 1 in 6 weeks)

Call-Out & Overtime Details:

• Standby pay: -150 per week when on call
• Overtime rates:
• Saturday: 4 hours at time and a half
• Sunday/Bank Holiday: 4 hours at double time
• Estimated annual uplift: Approximately -5,000 from standby and overtime.

Person Specification:

• Experience in general maintenance or facilities support.
• Practical knowledge of basic trades.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to participate in the call-out rota.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
