Maintenance OperativeJob Purpose To provide a hands-on maintenance service across four residential care home locations in the Leeds area, ensuring buildings, facilities, equipment and grounds are safe, well maintained and presented to a high standard for residents, visitors and colleagues. The role will involve travelling between sites and carrying out a wide range of general maintenance, repairs and handyman duties. Key Responsibilities Carry out general building and facilities maintenance across all four care home locations. Undertake minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, decorating and general repair work. Repair and maintain fixtures, fittings, furniture, shelving, doors, locks and other building components. Move, assemble and install furniture and equipment as required. Maintain internal and external areas, including grounds, pathways and general site presentation. Identify faults and maintenance issues, resolving them where possible or arranging specialist support when required. Carry out routine maintenance checks, inspections and tests, ensuring these are recorded appropriately. Respond promptly to urgent maintenance issues and minimise disruption to residents, colleagues and visitors. Plan and prioritise maintenance work with site management around the day-to-day operation of the care homes.
