Maintenance Operative

We are currently recruiting for a temporary Maintenance operative for our client in Whitstable.

We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Operative with painting and decorating experience to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a range of planned and reactive maintenance tasks across residential, commercial, or public sector properties, ensuring they are maintained to a high standard.

This is a varied role that requires a hands-on individual with a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

• Carry out painting and decorating works, including preparation, filling, sanding, painting, and finishing.
• Undertake general maintenance and repair tasks such as basic plumbing, carpentry, patch plastering, and minor building works.
• Complete planned and reactive maintenance jobs in a timely manner.
• Inspect properties and identify maintenance issues.
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.

• Previous experience in a maintenance operative, handyman, or multi-skilled trade role.
• Proven painting and decorating experience.
• Basic knowledge of general building maintenance, including minor repairs across multiple trades.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
