Maintenance Operative - Plumber Location: Southampton (office based)Contract: Permanent, full timeSalary: £30,000 to £35,000 per annumReporting to: Maintenance Manager About the Role As Plumber, you will play a key part in keeping our Southampton student accommodation safe, warm and comfortable. You will carry out plumbing and heating repairs, planned maintenance and water safety checks, working closely with the Maintenance Manager, your colleagues and our residents. Every day is different, whether you are fixing a leak, servicing a boiler or helping a student get their shower running again, and your skill and attention to detail will help build a positive community where everyone feels at home. Responsibilities: Carry Out Plumbing and Heating Repairs: Diagnose and repair faults across hot and cold water systems, heating, drainage, sanitaryware and kitchens, in both reactive and planned work. Maintain Water Safety: Complete legionella monitoring, including temperature checks, flushing regimes and thermostatic mixing valve checks, and record results accurately. Deliver Planned Maintenance: Complete planned inspections and servicing, reporting any remedial work required to the Maintenance Manager. Respond to Urgent Issues: Attend urgent calls such as leaks, flooding and loss of heating or hot water promptly, making situations safe and minimising disruption to students.
