MAIN DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIESMaintaining building services in a safe and satisfactory condition for the safety of visitors and staff. To respond to requests received orally or electronically for assistance and to advise or organise repair or replacement of items or systems that are in need of attention at district offices or the regional office which would include plumbing, electrical, carpentry work, gardening or major cleaning due to floods, fire, leaks, breakages or spills. To carry out or organise portable appliance safety (PAT) testing to a planned schedule of work at regional office and all district offices. (Training can be provided for this if not already qualified). In conjunction with the Regional Facilities Co-ordinator ensure all service contracts are current and in place, i.e. fire alarm systems emergency lighting systems, fire extinguishers, intruder alarms, door entry systems, heating systems, laundry, water supplies, lifts and air conditioning and to ensure all office premises and grounds are clean tidy and safe. Security of Regional Office to ensure that doors and windows are locked and the burglar alarm is set when unoccupied. Testing of the fire alarm. General maintenance of Regional Office. Preparation of meeting rooms. Stacking and cleaning drinks machines. Keeping the grounds clean and tidy. Carpet cleaning. Painting and decorating. Cleaning extractor fans and walls in kitchens.
