Maintenance Operative (ONGOING TEMP) - University Based Overview We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Operative to join the estates team of our client - a reputable university in central London. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of maintenance tasks to ensure buildings, facilities, and equipment are kept in safe and working order. Key Responsibilities Carry out basic general maintenance and repair tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, painting and basic electrical work as and when required Conduct routine inspections of buildings and equipment, identifying and resolving issues where possible Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times Maintain accurate records of work carried out and materials used Liaise with external contractors where specialist work is required Assist with planned preventative maintenance programmes Keep work areas clean, organised, and safe Requirements Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role Good practical skills across multiple trades Basic understanding of health and safety regulations Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Good communication skills Flexible and proactive approach to work Desirable Relevant qualifications (e.g. City and Guilds or NVQ in a related discipline) Experience working in higher education environments What ..... full job details .....
