Maintenance Operative
Our client is recruiting for an Maintenance Operative to join a well-established and highly regarded independent school. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a friendly and supportive Estates team, helping to maintain an outstanding learning environment for pupils, staff and visitors.The Maintenance Operative will be responsible for: Carrying out general repairs and maintenance across the school siteMaintaining fixtures, fittings, lighting and external areasEnsuring the school remains safe, secure, clean and well presentedOpening and locking the school buildings as requiredSetting up classrooms, halls and facilities for school events and activitiesSupporting with swimming pool water testing and monitoring (training provided where required)Completing general porterage duties, including moving furniture and equipmentAssisting with grounds maintenance, including leaf clearance, play area upkeep and external cleaningDriving the school''s minibuses and other estates vehicles when requiredCarrying out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) following online trainingSupporting the wider Estates team with additional maintenance tasks across the school campusShift PatternThe role operates on a three-week rotating shift pattern:Early: Monday-Friday, 6:30am-3:00pmDay: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pmLate: Monday-Friday, 10:30am-7:00pmOccasional evening and weekend work will be required to support school events such as Open Days and other key activities.
