Maintenance Fitter

Job Description: In this role you will be working for one of the UK''s leading dedicated WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) processing facilities, who are looking for experienced Maintenance Fitters to join their engineering team in Sittingbourne. This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining the site''s recycling plant, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently while minimising downtime. You''ll play a key role in planned preventative maintenance, fault finding, repairs and continuous improvement across the plant. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the recycling plant Service granulators, including changing and setting knives, wear bars, screens, hydraulic systems, cleaning and greasing Maintain ring crushers and other plant machinery Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to minimise downtime Work closely with Shift Managers and production teams to schedule maintenance effectively Monitor and maintain spare parts stock, reporting low stock levels when required Liaise with fabricators and external contractors where necessary Complete maintenance records and provide detailed shift handovers Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to reduce recurring faults Maintain workshop standards and ensure tools and equipment are stored correctly Attend team meetings and contribute ideas for continuous improvement Requirements Previous experience in a ..... full job details .....
