Maintenance Fitter

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our client''s team in Scarborough. You will play a key role in keeping production machinery operating safely and efficiently, carrying out preventative maintenance, fault finding and repairs, as well as supporting machinery installations and continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on production machinery
• Diagnosing mechanical faults and breakdowns and carrying out effective repairs
• Identifying root causes of equipment failures and helping to prevent repeat breakdowns
• Inspecting and maintaining machine safety guarding
• Working closely with Production Supervisors to minimise downtime and coordinate maintenance activities
• Supporting the installation, commissioning and modification of new machinery
• Carrying out bench fitting, fabrication and general mechanical engineering work
• Using MIG welding for maintenance and fabrication requirements
• Working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Supporting continuous improvement and machinery upgrade projects

Essential skills and experience:

• Previous experience as a Maintenance Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Engineer or similar
• Strong mechanical maintenance experience within a manufacturing or production environment
• Good fabrication and MIG welding skills
• Experience working with pneumatics and hydraulics
