About the Role We are seeking a proactive and reliable Maintenance Operative to join our team, ensuring our student accommodation properties are safe, clean, and well-maintained. You will play a key role in delivering a high-quality living experience for our residents by responding to maintenance requests, performing repairs, and supporting health and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service & Responsiveness
- Act promptly on student feedback and maintenance requests.
- Ensure issues are resolved directly or escalated appropriately within agreed timeframes.
- Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and trained ways of working.
- Maintain a safe environment by completing basic compliance checks and responding to incidents or emergencies.
- Maintenance & Repairs
- Carry out general maintenance tasks including:
- Mechanical and electronic locking systems
- Window and door repairs
- Reactive maintenance and emergency building works
- Fault finding and resolution
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) inspections and reporting
- Support summer turnaround projects and other seasonal maintenance activities.
- Carry out general maintenance tasks including:
- Cleanliness & Presentation
- Maintain a clean and tidy environment, addressing messes immediately.
- Sustainability
- Understand and contribute to the company’s sustainability strategy.
- Identify and act on opportunities to support environmental targets.
- Experience in general maintenance or a similar role
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and customer service skills
£16.00 - £24.00/hour
