Maintenance Operative – Oxford
Salary: £13 - £13.18 
Contract Type: Full-time

About the Role We are seeking a proactive and reliable Maintenance Operative to join our team, ensuring our student accommodation properties are safe, clean, and well-maintained. You will play a key role in delivering a high-quality living experience for our residents by responding to maintenance requests, performing repairs, and supporting health and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities

• Customer Service & Responsiveness
  
  • Act promptly on student feedback and maintenance requests.
  • Ensure issues are resolved directly or escalated appropriately within agreed timeframes.
• Compliance & Safety
  
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and trained ways of working.
  • Maintain a safe environment by completing basic compliance checks and responding to incidents or emergencies.
• Maintenance & Repairs
  
  • Carry out general maintenance tasks including:
    • Mechanical and electronic locking systems
    • Window and door repairs
    • Reactive maintenance and emergency building works
    • Fault finding and resolution
    • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) inspections and reporting
  • Support summer turnaround projects and other seasonal maintenance activities.
• Cleanliness & Presentation
  
  • Maintain a clean and tidy environment, addressing messes immediately.
• Sustainability
  
  • Understand and contribute to the company’s sustainability strategy.
  • Identify and act on opportunities to support environmental targets.

• Experience in general maintenance or a similar role
• Basic understanding of health and safety procedures
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Good communication and customer service skills
