About the Role

We are looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy, high-volume manufacturing environment in Colchester.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on keeping production running efficiently, responding to breakdowns, and driving improvements across automated machinery and production systems.

You''ll be working in a modern manufacturing site with a wide variety of equipment including conveyors, packaging systems, pneumatics, motors, sensors, and PLC-controlled machinery.

What You''ll Be Doing

• Responding to breakdowns and carrying out fault diagnosis across electrical and mechanical systems
• Carrying out planned preventive maintenance (PPM)
• Supporting continuous improvement (CI) and reliability projects
• Assisting with installation and commissioning of new equipment
• Working closely with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation

What We''re Looking For

• Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer (electrical or mechanical bias welcome)
• Strong fault-finding and breakdown experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with automated production machinery (conveyors, motors, sensors, PLCs etc.)
• Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / equivalent) desirable but not essential
• Backgrounds from FMCG, packaging, plastics, bottling, automotive, or similar industries are highly transferable

What''s on Offer

• -18.00 per hour basic (-44,000 approx.)
• 4 on / 4 off days only (07:00 - 18:00)
• No nights required
• Overtime paid at -23.94 per hour
• Christmas bonus based on hours worked
• Paid breaks (30 mins) + flexibility on breaks
