Hands-on Maintenance Engineer Role in a Busy Production Environment

We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established FMCG business near Colchester. You will maintain, repair, and improve production machinery to ensure targets and quality standards are consistently met. Full training on packaging machinery is provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across production machinery
• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules
• Support small engineering projects and site improvements
• Occasionally assist with facilities maintenance
• Ensure all machinery meets uptime, safety, and hygiene standards

About You

• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Comfortable using hand tools and troubleshooting machinery
• Experience with reactive breakdown maintenance and PPM
• Electrical, welding, or fabrication skills desirable but not essential
• Commutable to Colchester and able to work 4-on, 4-off day shifts

Candidates from automotive, plant, agricultural, or general industrial backgrounds are welcome.
