About the Role
The Maintenance Engineer role in Stafford involves maintaining and repairing site machinery within a busy food manufacturing operation. This full-time, permanent position offers a salary between £45,000 and £50,000 per annum. Working a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern of 12-hour day shifts, you will perform preventative maintenance checks to minimise breakdowns and ensure production continuity. Key responsibilities include ordering spares, parts, and consumables as needed, and recommending equipment upgrades when older machinery becomes uneconomical. The company is a leading food manufacturer based near Stafford. Due to expansion, and growing sales, they are seeking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer for their busy operations.

Hours of work – 4 on, 4 off (12 hour shifts) – Days
Main duties and responsibilities
- Maintenance, repair and service of site machinery
- Carry out preventative maintenance checks to ensure avoidance of site machinery and systems breakdowns
- Ordering spares, parts, tools, supplies and consumables when required
- Suggesting upgrades when old equipment costs too much to keep
- Making sure all work follows health and safety rules
- Ensuring all maintenance logs are kept up to date and record all completed jobs/service on machinery
Skills and experience required
- Maintenance engineer who holds experience within production and manufacturing environments
- Hold both mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Hold an 18th edition electrical qualification
- Mechanical knowledge of conveyors, bearings, chain drives, sprockets etc
- Electrical fault finding knowledge
- Able to work effectively in part of a team
- Starting salary of £40,000 - £50,000 per annum
- Salary reviewed and negotiated upwards once fully trained on the site's specialist machinery
- Weekly pay every Friday
