Pertemps are recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join an established manufacturing business in Bourton-on-the-Water. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer looking for a varied position covering planned maintenance, breakdowns, fault finding, repairs, and continuous improvement. Working closely with the wider production and engineering teams, you will play a key role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of production equipment and machinery while helping to minimise downtime and improve overall equipment performance.
Key Duties:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on production equipment and machinery.
- Responding promptly to equipment breakdowns and production stoppages.
- Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults.
- Carrying out effective repairs and ensuring equipment is returned to a safe and operational condition.
- Investigating recurring equipment failures and identifying appropriate corrective actions.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and completed work.
- Supporting engineering projects, equipment upgrades, and process improvements.
- Identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability, safety, efficiency, and maintainability.
- Supporting and leading continuous improvement projects where required.
- Producing simple fixtures, jigs, brackets, guards, and tooling where required.
What We're Looking For:
- A minimum of 3 years' previous experience within a Maintenance Engineer role or similar.
- Strong practical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance and responding to machinery breakdowns.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and technical documentation.
- Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office packages.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across production and engineering teams.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Basic fabrication and workshop skills would be advantageous.
- Experience using CAD packages such as SolidWorks would be beneficial but is not essential.
- A driving licence and access to a vehicle would be advantageous.
