Maintenance Engineer

Position: Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical OR Electrical OR Multi SkilledLocation: Sheffield, South YorkshireShift Patterns: Days OR Mornings and Afternoons. No nights.Salary: 38K- 50K, commensurate with experienceNicholas Associates has an excellent opportunity for Maintenance Engineers, to join an established client in Sheffield.You will be responsible for ensuring the continuous, safe, and efficient operation of industrial machinery, plant and equipment on site. You will balance planned preventive maintenance (PPM) with rapid, on-the-spot troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical faults. Key ResponsibilitiesPreventive Maintenance: Design and carry out scheduled routine checks to proactively identify potential issues and prevent costly equipment breakdowns.Diagnostics and Troubleshooting: Investigate mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment faults. Diagnose the root cause and apply safe, effective repairs.Safety Compliance: Ensure all machinery and maintenance practices comply with occupational health and safety regulations. Perform regular safety audits and risk assessments.Record Keeping: Log all maintenance tasks, part replacements, and service history using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).Emergency Response: Act as a first responder during unexpected machine downtime, occasionally working in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 cover.
