We re recruiting for an experienced Machine Tool Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established heavy engineering and manufacturing site in Sheffield. This is a predominantly mechanical-biased maintenance role, although you will need enough electrical knowledge to fault-find and support breakdowns across a range of heavy machine tools and CNC equipment. You ll be working on large, traditional engineering machinery, including older vertical boring and CNC machine tools, so we re looking for somebody who is comfortable getting properly hands-on. Maintenance Engineer - (Mechanical Bias) - What you ll be doing You ll be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across heavy machine tools and associated equipment, including: Mechanical breakdown diagnosis and repair Stripping down and rebuilding machinery Bearings, gearboxes, shafts, spindles and drive systems Hydraulics and lubrication systems Mechanical alignment and machine rebuild work Fault finding on motors, sensors, switches and basic electrical systems Preventative maintenance and planned servicing Supporting improvements and upgrades to existing machinery Working on both traditional and CNC-controlled ..... full job details .....
