Ganymede Solutions is working with an established specialist manufacturing business supplying products into the construction sector.
Due to continued investment within the site and the development of its engineering function, they are looking to appoint an experienced Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias.
This is a permanent position within a well-established engineering team, supporting a highly automated manufacturing environment where reliability and keeping production running are central to the role.
For an engineer currently working in a similar manufacturing environment, the attraction is a combination of strong basic earnings, regular overtime, a structured shift pattern and genuine investment in technical development.
The roleWorking as part of the site maintenance team, you will be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance across automated production equipment.
Your day-to-day work will include:
- Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery.
- Responding to electrical and mechanical breakdowns and diagnosing faults efficiently.
- Electrical fault finding across sensors, relays, inverters, control systems, single and three-phase motors and associated electrical equipment.
- Working with PLC-controlled automated machinery, including Beckhoff systems.
- Maintaining equipment including conveyors, palletising systems and automated production machinery.
- Mechanical maintenance including bearings, belts, pulleys, gearboxes and motors.
- Supporting equipment rebuilds, modifications and improvement work where required.
- Using a tablet-based maintenance system to complete PPMs, record breakdowns and maintain accurate engineering records.
- Working closely with production and the wider engineering team to minimise downtime and maintain output.
The role is hands-on and suited to an engineer who enjoys diagnosing problems rather than simply replacing components.
What we''re looking forYou will ideally have:
- HNC in Electrical Engineering – essential.
- Previous experience working in an industrial manufacturing or highly automated production environment.
- Strong electrical fault-finding ability.
- Good mechanical maintenance capability alongside your electrical skills.
- Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment.
- The ability to diagnose faults methodically and work safely under production pressure.
- A proactive approach and the ability to work independently as well as within a shift team.
£54,000 basic salary
£2,000 annual bonus - subject to KPI performance
£55,000–£58,000+ realistic earnings with overtime
5% employer pension contribution
25 days'' holiday
2 days / 2 nights / 4 off continental shift pattern
There is also a structured engineering development programme. Training is not limited to mandatory courses, with the business willing to invest in areas such as PLC development, further technical qualifications and degree-level study where appropriate.
For the right engineer, this provides scope to continue developing technically rather than moving into a role where progression is limited.
