Maintenance Engineer
We’re working with a highly respected, long-established UK manufacturer known for premium quality, craftsmanship, and continuous innovation. Operating from a modern, well-invested production facility in North Yorkshire, the business blends traditional production values with advanced automated manufacturing systems.
This is an opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a highly capable engineering team where standards are high, investment is consistent, and engineering plays a critical role in protecting product quality and operational performance.
Why This Role is Attractive

· A quality-led operation – Engineering supports premium product standards where precision and care matter
· Strong capital investment – Modern equipment, ongoing upgrades, and a clear focus on reliability and efficiency
· Balanced workload – A mix of planned maintenance, reactive support, and improvement activity
· Genuine engineering influence – Engineers are involved in problem-solving and long-term reliability improvements, not just breakdown response
· Stable, well-run environment – Low drama, structured, and professionally managed maintenance function
· Varied technology – From legacy systems to highly automated, PLC-driven production lines
Key Responsibilities
· Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production and packaging assets
· Respond effectively to breakdowns, diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults
· Work across pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems
· Support installation, commissioning, and modification of new and existing equipment
· Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, uptime, and efficiency
· Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and engineering safety standards (GMP / HACCP)
· Accurately record maintenance activity using CMMS systems
About You
We are looking for a hands-on, solutions-focused engineer who enjoys working in a fast-paced but controlled manufacturing environment.
You will likely have:
· Recognised engineering qualification (Level 3 NVQ, HNC or equivalent)
· Strong multi-skilled capability (electrical and mechanical fault-finding)
· Experience within FMCG, food, packaging, or similar regulated manufacturing
· Confident fault diagnosis on automated production equipment
· A proactive mindset with a focus on prevention and continuous improvement
· Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
What’s on Offer
· Salary of £58,000 + bonus
· Excellent pension scheme
· Ongoing technical training and development
· Exposure to modern automation and continuous improvement projects
· Long-term stability within a well-established, respected manufacturer
