About the Role:
The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for keeping machinery and facilities operating efficiently through a mix of preventative and reactive maintenance, as well as supporting equipment upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out daily/weekly checks and planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
Troubleshoot and repair breakdowns (mechanical and electrical)
Keep accurate records of all maintenance work
Support the installation of new machinery and process improvements
Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and conduct risk assessments
Liaise with contractors and internal teams to minimise downtime
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A time-served apprenticeship in mechanical and/or electrical engineering
NVQ Level 3 or higher (mechanical or electrical bias)
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential)
Solid diagnostic and fault-finding skills in a manufacturing setting
Ability to read technical drawings and work independently or in a team
Experience with lean principles and ISO standards (advantageous)
