Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
Hours - Friday - Sunday - Nights - 6pm - 6am
Salary: £42,090 per year
Overall Purpose of the Role
As a Maintenance Engineer in our foundry maintenance department, you’ll be the go-to problem solver — responding rapidly to breakdowns, diagnosing faults, and repairing die-casting machines to keep production running smoothly. You’ll deliver top-notch maintenance support to production departments, offices, and buildings, handle installation projects, and perform essential routine repairs. Working closely with production supervision, you’ll ensure machinery is operating at peak performance to meet demanding production targets.
Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver in-house maintenance services to production departments, offices, and site facilities.
Carry out electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic fault diagnosis and repairs.
Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime.
Conduct installation work on new and existing equipment.
Perform routine maintenance and scheduled servicing on machinery and infrastructure.
Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager and other skilled staff to solve complex breakdown issues.
Test, inspect, and repair machinery, replacing faulty electrical/electronic components (e.g., relays, switches, motors) and mechanical parts.
Enter electrical panels to reset trips and restore equipment to service.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, completing tickets promptly after repairs.
Suggest improvements to equipment use and working conditions to enhance efficiency and safety.
Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and proposing preventative measures.
Maintain and repair the physical structure of the site.
Requisition tools, equipment, and replacement parts when required.
This Maintenance Engineer position is pivotal to keeping our foundry operating without interruption. Your technical expertise and problem-solving skills will directly impact production performance and ensure our equipment remains in top condition.
The Ideal Maintenance Engineer Will HaveProven experience in machinery maintenance (electrical and mechanical).
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Hands-on experience with die-casting machinery is advantageous.
A proactive, safety-first mindset.
