Our client is a long-established, highly respected manufacturing business supplying the construction and home improvement sectors. Known for investing in modern technology and lean practices, they are now looking to expand their engineering team at their Tamworth site. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, multi-skilled engineer to contribute to site performance in a key hands-on role.
You''ll work on a 42-hour panama shift pattern (days and nights) and be instrumental in maintaining the smooth running of plant and equipment through a blend of reactive and planned maintenance and earning -43,400 per annum.
Key Responsibilities of this Maintenance Engineer role:
- Diagnose and repair faults on a wide range of mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns to minimise production disruption.
- Prioritise and coordinate repair tasks, especially during multiple equipment failures.
- Execute planned preventative maintenance and project-based installations.
- Ensure compliance with all legal standards and internal health and safety protocols.
- Log all maintenance work accurately in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship and support ongoing process improvement efforts.
- Monitor stock levels of critical spare parts and raise restocking requests.
- Keep all workshop and stores areas organised, clean, and hazard-free.
- Work in full alignment with the company''s Health & Safety Charter and engineering best practices.
Qualifications & Experience Required for this Maintenance Engineer role:
- Proven experience in a maintenance engineering or technical repair role.
- Apprentice trained or time served engineer.
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding and repair skills.
- Familiarity with planned preventative maintenance processes and schedules.
- Ability to use and update CMMS or other maintenance tracking tools.
- Solid understanding of relevant workplace safety legislation and procedures.
- Willing and able to respond to out-of-hours breakdowns when required.
