Salary: £43,000 - £46,000 per annum

Maintenance Engineer Role:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to play a key role in the maintenance and smooth running of machinery in the production department. This position is vital to ensuring maximum reliability and uptime, with scheduled maintenance managed proactively. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, inquisitive, and collaborative, supporting the business through a period of growth.
Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities:
- Provide mechanical and electrical support to operators for machine set-ups and changeovers, ensuring products meet quality standards while minimising downtime.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance to maximise efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Perform fault diagnosis and repair across a range of production machinery.
- Lead on electrical and electronic repairs to primary manufacturing machinery.
- Undertake mechanical repairs, facility upkeep, and general housekeeping in line with legislation and procedures.
- Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts as required.
- Support the production team with training, advice, and process improvements to maximise productivity.
- Ensure all necessary documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Promote compliance with Health & Safety standards and environmental/quality management procedures.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the production environment.
Maintenance Engineer Skills:
- Ideally City & Guilds trained with an HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong technical background with motors, drives, and controllers (packaging industry experience desirable).
- Mechanical experience working with specialist machinery (e.g. printing or packaging lines).
- Skilled in fault finding and rectification.
- Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work independently or in a team.
- Flexible approach to working hours to support shift rotations.
