Maintenance Engineer

My client, a successful manufacturing business  is recruiting an experienced Maintenance Engineer.  This will suit a canidate with a strong Mechanical background  capable of resolving planned and unplanned maintenance tasks to drive efficiency and minimise downtime. This role has no shifts.

Key Duties:

• Carry out routine and unplanned maintenance work and respond to equipment faults;
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and machinery and arrange procurement Of fixtures, fittings and components as required;
• Conduct quality inspections on jobs;
• Control maintenance tools, stores and equipment;
• Monitor and control maintenance costs;
• Deal with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs;
• Work closely with Senior Management to improve health and safety policies and procedures;
• Work as part of a team to ensure the continuous flow of production and operations;

Criteria:

• Time-served Mechanical Engineer or Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering

• Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in a mechanical maintenance role within a manufacturing or industrial environment

• Strong practical experience with mechanical systems, including hydraulics and pneumatics

• Basic working knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, CNC, or PC-controlled equipment desirable (mechanical focus remains key)

• Able to work independently, manage workload effectively, and prioritise maintenance activities

• Proactive, reliable team player with flexibility to support business needs when required
