This is an opportunity to join a global manufacturing business operating one of its largest UK production facilities. Employing over 425 people on site, the business operates four production plants and continues to invest heavily in both its equipment and engineering function.
Following a period of restructuring, the site is back in growth mode with significant capital investment underway, including new forge equipment and a drive to improve reliability through proactive maintenance. The engineering team is expanding to support this growth, making it an excellent time to join.

The Role – Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
You''ll be joining a large maintenance department responsible for maintaining a wide range of industrial manufacturing equipment across the site. The business is actively moving away from reactive maintenance and investing heavily in preventative maintenance and reliability improvements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Mechanical fault finding and repairs on heavy industrial plant
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Replacing components like-for-like on production equipment
- Reading and interpreting drawings
- Supporting reliability improvements across the site
This is a hands-on role within a manufacturing environment where no two days are the same.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary – £54,000
- OTE – £60,000+ with OT (1.5x,2x)
- Shifts – 4 on / 4 off (days & nights, 7am–7pm / 7pm–7am)
- Holidays – 33 days

- A recognised Level 3 qualification in Engineering
- Experience working on manufacturing or process equipment
- A proactive attitude with a genuine desire to improve equipment reliability
