Maintenance Engineer

Alchem Partners are currently representing a family owned, chemical manufacturing business based in the Northwest. With over 100 years in industry, they are a respected and recognised business with a solution driven and customer centric approach.

Due to a promotion within the team we are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join the existing maintenance team. This role will suit a Mechanically bias individual who has some basic appreciation for electrical.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical breakdowns and execute repairs promptly to minimise downtime.
• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of machinery and equipment.
• Carry out scheduled work tasks and reports.
• Welding & fabrication duties.
• Manage stock of components and fittings, reordering as required.
• Operation of CMMS system.
• Completion of PPMs.
• Liaise with supplier reps.
• Maintain accurate service records and history reports.
• Understand and comply with ‘lockout tagout’ procedures, COMAH etc.
• Any other reasonable duties relevant to the role.

Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications

• City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or above in Engineering
• Previous Maintenance Engineer experience in a similar industry.
• Knowledge of FMCGs machinery
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a general engineering role

In return our client is offering a salary of £40,138pa, plus overtime paid at time and a half, on average 25 hours available throughout the month should you choose to work it.

This role is 37.5 hours a week Monday – Friday days.
