Maintenance Electrician

D R Newitt Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a leading engineering and maintenance services provider in the search for an experienced-Maintenance Electrician-to join their team on a long-term industrial maintenance contract based at a major wastewater treatment facility in Ayrshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled electrical maintenance professional seeking a stable role within a well-established business, working on critical infrastructure and essential services.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults on a range of industrial equipment and systems.
• Conduct inspections, testing and commissioning of electrical installations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and efficiency.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with site procedures and industry regulations.
• Accurately complete maintenance documentation and reports.
• Liaise effectively with site management, operations personnel and fellow engineers.

Candidate Requirements

• Time-served Electrician with recognised electrical qualifications.
• Experience within industrial maintenance environments.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Experience working with motors, control panels, instrumentation and industrial electrical systems.
• Knowledge of health & safety procedures within industrial environments.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.

Desirable Experience

• COMPEX certification.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Experience within utilities, water treatment, manufacturing, process, petrochemical or heavy industrial sectors.
• Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment.
