The business places a strong emphasis on equipment reliability, electrical safety and continuous improvement. Whilst a background in heavy manufacturing is an advantage, it is not a requirement - candidates with solid electrical competence and the right attitude are equally encouraged to apply.

The Role

  • Plan and carry out preventive maintenance on electrical and control systems to maximise equipment reliability and uptime

  • Service and maintain motors, drives, PLCs, control panels, sensors and associated electrical equipment
  • Support condition monitoring activities including thermography, insulation resistance testing and vibration analysis
  • Assist with electrical installation, testing and inspection in line with current IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects targeting system reliability, downtime reduction and production efficiency
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation within the site CMMS
  • Work closely with production, engineering and shift maintenance colleagues to deliver improvements
  • Provide cover for the shift team during holidays and absence periods
  • Work safely in line with all site procedures including LOTOTO, PPE and H&S standards

What We''re Looking For

  • Time-served apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering - essential
  • NVQ Level 3 minimum, plus 18th Edition (IET Wiring Regulations) - essential
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills across industrial systems
  • Hands-on experience with motors, drives, PLCs, control panels and industrial electrical equipment
  • Sound understanding of PPM/TPM systems and CMMS platforms
  • Good awareness of electrical and site safety procedures including LOTO, PPE and H&S
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
  • Experience of predictive maintenance techniques such as thermography, vibration analysis or insulation testing - desirable
  • Involvement in CI, reliability or equipment modification projects - preferable
  • Heavy manufacturing background - desirable but not required
