Role: Java Full Stack Developer (Macro Trade Capture)Location: London, UKContract Duration: 6 months PAYE Role Overview and Project ScopeWe are seeking a Java Full Stack Developer based in London, UK to join our trading technology team. In this role, you will be instrumental in kicking off a legacy system replacement initiative for our Fixed Income trade system. You will help engineer modern Java-based microservices using high-performance messaging and RPC frameworks.Key ResponsibilitiesFull-Stack Engineering: Develop end-to-end features utilising Angular on the frontend and Java 17+ with Spring Boot on the backend.System Modernisation: Transition legacy fixed income trading application components into a modern, scalable Java microservices architecture.Messaging and Communication: Integrate real-time messaging and RPC protocols using Solace MQ and gRPC.DevOps and Delivery: Drive engineering standards using DevOps tools, automated CI/CD pipelines, and Git version control.Required Technical Skills and ExperienceBackend Stack: Core proficiency in Java 17+ and Spring Boot.Frontend Stack: Hands-on experience building user interfaces with Angular.Architecture and Messaging: Experience with Java microservices, gRPC, and Solace MQ.DevOps and Tooling: Practical knowledge of DevOps tools, CI/CD, and Git.Domain Context: Experience or familiarity working with Fixed Income trade systems.About BarclaysBarclays is a British universal bank.
