Machinist (Manual Mill and Lathe) OTAQ Connectors Limited produce a range of connectors for the diving industry along with cables used within the offshore industry. We have an international clientele. We are seeking a skilled Machinist to operate manual milling machines and lathes to fabricate tooling according to specifications. The ideal candidate will be experienced in reading technical drawings, setting up equipment, and maintaining tight tolerances while ensuring quality and safety standards are met. Hours of work: Monday - Thursday 7:00 - 17:00 These hours can be flexible if required This is a full-time position based in Ulverston. The role will be responsible performing day to day machining of inserts, mould tool manufacture and maintenance with additional inspection responsibilities dependent on workload. Responsibilities: Setup, operate and maintain the lathe and milling machine. Interpret blueprints, drawings and work instructions Measure and inspect finished parts using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges). Select appropriate tooling, speeds and feeds for various materials. Maintain quality and safety standards, keeping records and maintaining equipment. Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements.
