Machinist/Toolmaker

An-exciting-opportunity-has-become-available-for-a-full time,-experienced-Toolmaker-to-join-a-small-and-friendly-Toolroom-team.-This-role-involves-the-manufacture-and-maintenance-of-form-and-cutting-tools,-jigs,-and-fixtures-to-support-production-in-a-high-security-manufacturing-environment.

The-Toolroom-is-equipped-with-a-range-of-manual-and-CNC-machinery,-including-wire-erosion.-While-all-new-tooling-is-supported-with-fully-dimensioned-technical-drawings,-a-solid-understanding-of-tooling-functionality-is-essential.

Key-Responsibilities:

• Manufacture,-repair,-and-maintain-press-tools-to-precise-engineering-drawings-and-tolerances.
• Operate-a-variety-of-manual-and-CNC-machinery-including-milling-machines,-lathes,-and-surface-grinders.
• Perform-routine-servicing-and-regrinding-of-tools.
• Verify-conformity-of-machined-and/or-repaired-tools-to-specifications-by-checking-dimensions,-clearances,-and-alignments.
• Investigate-and-report-root-causes-of-equipment-breakdowns-and-faults.
• Ensure-all-work-meets-high-quality-standards-and-complies-with-relevant-quality-regulations.
• Ensure-all-tooling-is-safe,-functional,-and-production-ready-before-return,-following-correct-preventative-maintenance-(PM)-procedures.

Essential-Skills-&-Experience:

• Skilled-in-the-use-of-precision-hand-tools.
• Proficient-in-reading-and-interpreting-engineering-drawings.
• Experience-operating-Toolroom-machinery-and-equipment-(e.g.,-milling-machines,-lathes,-surface-grinders).
