Machine Operator Nights

My well-established Engineering client based in Reading is looking to recruit a Machine Operator on a temp-perm basis (typically over 3 months). Candidates will have previous engineering / manufacturing experience and be familiar with engineering practices, machine health & safety and equipment.

The role is starting immediately after successful interview so please only apply if you are available to start immediately or within a week from an offer.

Responsibilities:

• Operate engineering machinery to produce metal parts/products - CNC perforating presses
• Be responsible for the quality of parts produced and ensure they conform to company standards and product drawings.
• Run machines to achieve cycle times as recorded on the route cards.
• Assist Setter/Team Leader in improving changeover times, machine running efficiencies and tooling set ups.
• Transportation of goods within the factory, assisting with stock checks and general housekeeping within the manufacturing site.

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience operating machines within an engineering or manufacturing environment (CNC or manual machinery).
• Have general engineering knowledge and experience of Machine operating and/or setting.
• Experience in quality checking of parts using micrometres / vernier calipers.
• Experience working a permanent nightshift.

This role is offered on a permanent night shift working Sunday - Thursday nights 22.00 - 06.00. A competitive hourly rate of £16.14 per hour is on offer for the successful candidate which equates to a salary of £33,571 per annum. In addition, once permanent - Profit related pay (approx 25%) and a monthly production bonus (5%) give an additional £8-10k per year giving a total annual earnings of between £41-44k per annum.
