A Machine Operator is needed in Bangor to operate large-scale industrial machinery within a temporary contract, paying £13.12 to £13.41 per hour. This full-time role involves setting up equipment, loading raw materials, and manually producing adhesive-coated tapes to meet daily production targets. Working within a small team, the position requires monitoring product quality, unloading finished goods, and ensuring proper storage. Candidates must follow written and verbal instructions, applying judgement to identify operational issues and escalate them as needed. Basic data entry and strict adherence to health and safety protocols are essential. Key skills include machinery operation, quality control, and the ability to work collaboratively to maintain a safe, efficient production environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate large-scale industrial machinery in accordance with defined instructions and operating procedures.
  • Follow production schedules diligently, working within a small team to meet daily targets.
  • Set up machines, load raw materials, and manually operate equipment to produce adhesive-coated tapes.
  • Unload finished products from machines, ensuring proper handling and storage.
  • Monitor product quality throughout the production process, exercising control over quality standards.
  • Work from written or verbal instructions, applying judgement and selectivity as needed.
  • Identify potential issues or problems during operation and escalate when necessary.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety protocols at all times.
  • Accurately perform basic data entry and utilise computer systems for production documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process.

Required Skills andamp; Qualifications

  • Valid Forklift Truck (FLT) licence with experience operating FLT equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, quality-focused manufacturing setting, operating production machinery.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and practical skills to operate and troubleshoot machinery.
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Reliable timekeeping and a proactive approach to work responsibilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency and data entry skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a small team and contribute positively to team goals.
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations and a commitment to working safely at all times.

Shift Pattern


Covering shift pattern with 8-hour rotations, covering days and evenings from Monday to Friday.
