Pay Rate: -13.35 per hour during 6 month training/probation period
-14.40 after training period.
Hours: Two week shift rotation
Week One - Early Shift
- Monday to Thursday 06:30am - 16:30pm
Week Two- Late Shift
- Monday to Thursday 16:30pm - 02:30am
We are currently recruiting for x2 experienced Machine Operatives to join a busy team based in Middlesbrough (TS2). This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous machinery experience who is confident learning new machinery.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the press machine, and ensuring equipment is managed efficiently and accurately while maintaining high standards of health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating and assisting with the running of vinyl record pressing machinery.
- Setting up and preparing machinery and materials for production.
- Monitoring the pressing process and making adjustments where required, following training and production procedures.
- Carrying out quality control checks throughout the production process.
- Inspecting pressed records for defects, including surface marks, scratches, warping, contamination, label positioning and other quality issues.
- Checking records against production specifications and approved samples.
- Identifying and reporting quality issues and assisting with resolving production problems.
- Checking machinery and production equipment is operating correctly and carrying out routine checks and cleaning.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe production environment.
- Handling vinyl records and production materials carefully to prevent damage.
- Leading by example and ensuring company procedures are followed
- Sorting, counting and checking finished records.
- Assisting with packing, labelling and preparing finished records for dispatch.
- Completing production records, quality control checks and other relevant paperwork accurately.
- Working to production schedules and helping the team meet daily targets and deadlines.
- Working closely with other members of the production team and supporting other areas of the plant when required.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a machine operative
- Strong organisational and stock control skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident communicating with colleagues and management
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage a busy working environment
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- Able to work independently and confidently lead a team
