Learning Support Assistant (SEMH) Secondary School, Southampton Hours: 8:15am 3:30pm Contract: Full-time or 4 days per week Start: As soon as possible Location: Southampton Initial Contract: Via Teaching Personnel, with opportunity to move onto a permanent school contract after probation Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)? A therapeutic, nurturing secondary school in Southampton is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team. This specialised setting provides a holistic and therapeutic approach to education, supporting pupils who may struggle to thrive in mainstream environments. What We re Looking For You must have previous experience working with children or young people with additional needs. We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds, including: Care Hospital or clinical support Youth work Alternative provision or SEND settings SEMH/SEND school experience Role Responsibilities Support pupils with SEMH needs in both 1:1 and small-group settings Implement therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches Collaborate with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies Build positive, trusting and consistent relationships with pupils Help create a safe, emotionally supportive learning environment What We Offer Competitive daily rates through Teaching Personnel Full training and ongoing professional development Support from experienced ..... full job details .....
