Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons
• Work with individual pupils or small groups to reinforce learning
• Assist pupils with additional learning needs, including SEN where required
• Help manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Prepare classroom resources and maintain a tidy, safe learning environment
• Supervise pupils during break times, lunchtimes, and school activities
• Provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress and development
• Support safeguarding and promote the wellbeing of all pupils

Essential:

• Experience working with children or young people
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Patient, caring, and supportive approach
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills

Desirable:

• Relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant)
• Experience working in a school setting
• Knowledge of additional learning needs (ALN/SEN)
