Logistics Operator

Our client, a leading global FMCG company producing home care products such as washing detergents, are currently looking for CB3 Logistics Operator to work in their prestigious facility in Port Sunlight. This is a Temporary position, with an immediate start with the anticipated duration expected to be 12 months. The pay rate will be -18.11 an hour on basis of 37.5 hours per week

FLT license (COUNTERBALANCE) that is RTITB or ITSSAR accredited and has been refreshed in the last 3 years is essential for this role.

Applicants must be available to work shifts that cover a 24/7 working pattern Monday to Saturday following a 3 crew shift pattern:

Week A: Monday - Friday 6am-2pm

Week B: Monday - Friday 2pm-10pm

Week C: Monday - Friday 10pm -6am


The Logistics Operator will execute, co-ordinate and improve the requisite material handling tasks which includes but is not limited to:

* Safe use of material handling equipment to unload deliveries, receive, transport and store materials to their designated location

* Ensure correct materials are received through the checking and verification of delivery notes.

* Monitor and inspect deliveries and report any damage or discrepancies immediately.

* Correctly label and store products in designated racking locations.

* Use SAP for good receipting all deliveries and correctly transferring materials through the SAP system for full traceability.

* Carry out regular stock take and reconciliation activities in racking locations, warehouse and mixer

* Operate pallet hoists to move materials efficiently and safely and ensure Big Bag inlet and outlet positioning to ensure correct product transfer.

* Operate the Boone mixer in accordance with standard operating procedures.

* Operate the powder recovery station to minimise waste and maintain product quality.

* Support the execution of powder changeovers following all safety and quality procedures

* Manage raw powder spillage'' in delivery and storage areas and their subsequent elimination, following correct safety procedures

* Carry out waste management activities ensuring rework/waste procedures are followed

* Ensure effective communication and seamless handover between shifts

* Carrying out requisite Run to Standard activities

* Provide flexibility, including actively participate in cross skill training, to assist other areas at peak times to maintain operational performance where skills permit

* Use of requisite SAP systems to meet requirements of the role.



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

* Ensure company safety policy, rules, and procedures are understood and followed at all times, encouraging everyone to behave safely and challenging unsafe behaviour.

* Actively contribute to a safe working environment and culture by identifying and reporting health and safety hazards, unsafe behaviours and unsafe conditions

* Participate in regular inspections/audits for good housekeeping and area safety, ensuring agreed actions are completed.

* Execute tasks in line with Risk Assessments (RAs). Support in reviewing existing and new RAs. Support in creating RAs where none exist.

* Handle materials according to quality procedures and standards with minimal waste

* Take immediate actions to rectify quality issues and follow the escalation processes as required.

* Coordinate and execute quality procedures, tasks and documentation, including rework activities and quality investigations.

* Ensure materials are thoroughly inspected and processed onwards to the operation in an efficient manner.

* Anticipate and react quickly to problems in order to avoid impact to customer service.

* Escalate issues in a timely manner, where needed.

Identify improvements in order to reduce Cost, Waste and Energy.


* Define, follow, maintain and improve 5S standards and workplace organisation.

* Report equipment issues using proper procedures such as the tag database.

* Monitor equipment condition to prevent breakdowns, monitoring loss patterns using

* Provide breakdown information and support Engineers in analysis and counter measures as required.

* Record and classify losses accurately; manage loss data effectively.

* Assist leaders in embedding a "Fix forever" mentality with appropriate countermeasures.

* Contribute to the creation and review SOPs and OPLs as required.

* Identify, diagnose and resolve common challenges with System errors, including SAP, Manual Handling Equipment and miscellaneous problems that affect the smooth running of the process.

* Collate and escalate information on more complex faults to the Engineers or Leadership.

* Ensure all relevant skills are displayed on team skills matrix.

* Take ownership to close skills gaps identified by the skills matrix by arranging and completing training activities.

* Seek feedback from others to further development of own skills and raise standards.
